21^st Annual TREEFEST

Annual celebration of Trees
The festival site is located on the Riverview Hospital Grounds at 2601 Lougheed Highway and is outside the Industrial Services Building. Access the site via Lougheed Highway from either the Orchid Drive entrance or Colony Farm Rd/Holly Drive entrance.
Once you enter the grounds, follow the festival signs and arrows to the Industrial Services Building.
There is plenty of free on-site parking and parking attendants will help you find a spot.

RAIN or SHINE A funfilled day for the whole Family FREE EVENT

Bring the entire family to this free annual celebration of trees on the Riverview Hospital Lands.

Be sure to visit the INFO table by the Event Trailer for all information during the event.

Activities:

WALKS

TREE TOURS: The Popular Tree Tours which highlight some of the more than 1,900 trees on the site
11am, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm - leaving from near the HEY building.

Guided tours of significant and unusual trees leave each hour. Tours are 1 - 1.5 hours and are led by local arborists. Meet outdoors at the purple flags on the downhill (east) side of the HEY Building.

FINNIES GARDEN: 11 - 4:
Explore this 2 acre natural garden via a self-guided tour (guide available at the BMN display).

This horticultural therapy garden was started in 1951.Today you can still see the fish pond, stone terraces, flower beds, plots for different wards, and lawns, shown in the original plans. Access the garden on foot.

HISTORY BUS TOURS: 11:30, 1:00, 2:30 - Limited Seating 1st Come Basis Tickets required;
Tickets will be available at the Info Booth from 11:00 - 2:15 or until they run out.  Cost is a minimum $2.00 donation and tickets will be first come, first serve.

ARTS Exhibition and Sale:
Local artists will be on-site exhibiting their work. Look for them at the Serenity Garden.
BC Master Gardeners:
Bring all your gardening questions to the on-site Master Gardeners.
BLACKBERRY TEA & Serenity Garden: 12:30 - 4:00
Listen to live music in the Serenity Garden while enjoying tea, blackberry shortcake and cupcakes. Treats range from $1 -  $3.  Free ice cream cups for kids! 
Children's Activities:
Meet at 12:30 at the south end of the Industrial Services Building parking lot for a guided children’s tree walk. Visit the tents in the Industrial Services Parking lot for more children’s crafts and activities.
Coast Mental Health Open House:
Coast Mental Health is a non-profit, community based organization serving over 2000 people with mental illnesses.  The Coast Cottage Program serves clients who reside in 12 cottages on the Riverview Lands.  The program provides psychosocial rehabilitation supports and services so clients can attain necessary skills for community reintegration. 
COMMUNITY Displays & Activities
Visit the tents in the Industrial Services Building parking lot for activities and displays presented by: BC Master Gardeners Association, Burke Mountain Naturalists, City of Coquitlam, Colony Farm Park Association, Coquitlam Amateur Radio Emergency Services Society, Coquitlam Heritage Society/Mackin House Museum, Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable, Coquitlam RiverWatch, Fraser River Discovery Centre, Friends of DeBoville Slough, Friends of Mundy Park, Glen Pine 50 Plus Society, Hyde Creek Watershed Society, Minnekhada Park Association, Naturescape BC, Port Moody Ecological Society, Port Moody Heritage Society, Riverview Horticultural Centre Society and South Coast Conservation Program.

FOOD Concession:
Enjoy a variety of hot food and beverages served by Metro Catering at the Industrial Services Building or check out the Blackberry Tea in the Serenity Garden.
SPARC Radio Museum:
Ever wonder about the inventions and history behind devices like broadcast radio, TV, mp3 players and DVDs? SPARC Radio Museum showcases a large collection of antique consumer and amateur radios and broadcast equipment where you can see the progress of electronic technology through the decades. Exhibits include a replica of the radio room on the Carpathia, the steamship famous for rescuing survivors of the Titanic.

This Event is FREE no registration required. Lots of Free Parking!
