Riverview Horticultural Centre Society was founded in 1992. Its mission is to preserve and protect the Lands and Trees of the Riverview Hospital site as a community oriented, financially viable centre for horticultural, educational and therapeutic activities.
Our vision for the Lands is to preserve and protect the diverse collection of unique trees for the benefit of all, now and in the future.
To support
Since its inception, its activities have been focused on making people aware of the Lands through free public tree walks. We have also made people aware of the history, the value of the trees and Lands. We have generated support from the public, the horticultural community, environmental groups and government representatives for the preservation of the Lands.
We encourage people to join our group through a yearly $5.00 membership.
“People who will not sustain trees will soon live in a world that will not sustain people.”
